How To Apply for University of Kentucky Scholarships (Academic Scholarships)
Students who meet the traditional or test optional minimum criteria,
- apply for admission
- submit all supporting documents, including high school transcript, as soon as possible, but by no later than the deadline.
- Once admitted, eligible students are automatically considered for academic scholarships.
- No additional application is required.

- complete the competitive scholarship section of the admission application and
- submit all supporting documents, including high school transcript, as soon as possible but by no later than December 1, to have their application reviewed in this highly competitive program.
- A limited number of awards will be offered.
- Selected applicants may be invited to campus for interviews. Please note, these scholarships are highly competitive, therefore it’s advised you submit your application as early as possible.
Take Note: In 2023-24, The University of Kentucky received over 2,600 competitive scholarship applications for the incoming Freshmen class and awarded 50 Presidential scholarships and 25 Otis A. Singletary scholarships.
For Selective Scholarship

2. W.C. Parker Belonging Scholarship
The William C Parker Belonging Scholarship Program (WCP) directly supports the UK Strategic Plan goal of uniting many people as one community. Within this community is a broad variety of lived experiences among our students, staff and faculty. Together, these experiences and backgrounds help UK build and maintain a community of welcoming, inclusion, understanding and belonging society.
- Award Value: $5,000 – $15,000 per year

4. International Ambassador Scholarship
Every year, the University of Kentucky (UK) welcomes new students from all over the world to campus. The International Student Ambassadors contribute to this by representing the UK to potential students in their native countries and regions.
The ambassadors answer questions regarding the application process, scholarships, student life, and degree options. They also assist with other outreach projects, such as giving lectures and creating unique and original content for social media and promotion.
