Australian Visa Requirements
To enter Australia, you must have a valid passport, a valid visa, and a completed and signed Incoming Passenger Card.
Your airline will hand out Incoming Passenger Cards during your flight to Australia. See the section “Check your passport and travel documents” below for more information on visas.
Australian Visas COVID-19 Requirements
Regardless of COVID-19 vaccination status, travelers do not need a pre-departure COVID-19 test to enter or transit Australia. Check to see if the COVID-19 testing requirements differ for any transit countries you will pass through on your way to Australia, or if your airline has any additional requirements.
Travelers to Australia will no longer be required to complete a Digital Passenger Declaration if arriving by air or a Maritime Travel Declaration if arriving by sea, as of July 6, 2022, and there will be no requirement to declare or prove your vaccination status for entry to Australia.
However, states and territories, on the other hand, have the authority to impose their own travel restrictions on visitors arriving from both international and domestic locations.
Check the requirements for the state or territory where you intend to arrive. Border regulations can shift quickly. Travelers should expect changes to their plans.
Australian Requirements for Quarantine
Quarantine requirements are determined and managed by each state and territory. Check the requirements for the state or territory where you will be arriving.
If quarantine requirements apply, such as if you test positive for COVID-19, you must follow the quarantine requirements in the state or territory you are in before traveling to another state or territory.
If you are fully vaccinated
All fully vaccinated visa holders are welcome to visit Australia.

Proof of Vaccination Status as an Australian Visa and Entry Requirements
To enter or transit through other countries, or to use within Australia, you may be required to provide proof of vaccination status. You should use an International COVID-19 Vaccine Certificate (ICVC) generated by Services Australia if you were vaccinated in Australia.
Australia will accept proof of COVID-19 vaccination issued in the Crown Dependencies as well as proof of COVID-19 vaccination issued in the United Kingdom. Your NHS appointment card from vaccination centers is not intended to be used as proof of vaccination and should not be used in that capacity.
If you are not fully Vaccinated
Proof of vaccination is no longer required for entry into Australia beginning July 6, 2022. All visa holders, regardless of vaccination status, are welcome to visit Australia. Young People and Children Australian Visa and Entry Requirements
Children and young people will no longer be required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination status when entering Australia, beginning July 6, 2022. Check to see if the requirements for proof of COVID-19 vaccination status differ for any transit countries you will pass through on your way to Australia, or if your airline has any additional requirements.
If you are Transiting Through Australia,
Travelers transiting through Australia will no longer be required to complete a Digital Passenger Declaration if arriving by air or a Maritime Travel Declaration if arriving by sea, as of July 6, 2022.
British citizens can transit through Australia without a visa for up to 8 hours. If you want to transit without a visa, you must stay airside and will not be able to clear immigration, including collecting luggage that should have been checked through to your final destination.
You can get information on transiting without a visa from the Department of Home Affairs. If your transit time is longer than 8 hours and you are not eligible to transit without a visa, you must apply for and obtain a visa before traveling to Australia.

Typically, British citizens can obtain the following types of electronic visitor visas:
- eVisitor visa: There is no application or service fee for a visa.
- Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) is available through iOS or Android apps. There is no fee for applying for a visa, but a service fee of A$20 may apply.
All other types of visas can be obtained from the Department of Home Affairs or the Australian High Commission in London.

Working Holiday Visa: Australian Visa and Entry Requirements
If you are in Australia on a working holiday visa, you should be aware of your rights as an employee and how to report any concerns about unfair or unlawful treatment.
Thousands of British working holidaymakers visit Australia each year, with the vast majority having a pleasant stay. Working conditions, housing, and medical facilities are generally of high quality.

Australian Visas During COVID-19
According to the Australian Department of Home Affairs, visa processing arrangements may be disrupted during the COVID-19 pandemic. On the Department of Home Affairs website, you can view global visa processing times and other Australian visa and entry requirements.
If you are unable to leave Australia and your visa is about to expire or has already expired, you should contact the Australian Department of Home Affairs immediately. Because Australia does not issue visa extensions, you will need to apply for a new visa and provide relevant supporting documentation to remain lawfully in Australia.

Passport Validity: Australian Visa and Entry Requirements
Your passport must be valid for the duration of your proposed stay in Australia. There is no need for an additional period of validity beyond this.

Before you travel to Australia, make sure you have comprehensive medical insurance. Treatment costs can be prohibitively expensive if you are not covered by the reciprocal healthcare arrangements that exist between Australia and the United Kingdom.
Australia’s healthcare system is excellent. Under the reciprocal healthcare arrangements, UK residents are entitled to limit subsidized health services from Medicare while visiting Australia for medically necessary treatment. These provisions do not apply to non-visitors, such as students studying in Australia.

Do I need a visa to travel to Australia?
You will need a valid Australian visa to enter the country, unless you are an Australian citizen. Passport holders from New Zealand can apply for a visa upon arrival in the country. All other passport holders, regardless of age, must obtain a visa before departing.

What Are the Types of Tourist visas Available in Australia?

The visitor visa allows you to visit Australia for tourism, leisure, or business. It is open to people of all nationalities. eVisitor (subclass 651)
This is a free visa that allows you to visit Australia for tourism or business for up to three months at a time within 12 months. This visa is available to citizens of several European countries and cannot be extended.
How Can I Apply for a Tourist Visa to Australia?
The application process may differ depending on the type of visa you need.
You can only apply for the Electronic Travel Authority visa (subclass 601) using the Australian ETA app.
Other visas can be applied for online by creating an ImmiAccount and completing the application process. Make sure to submit your application well in advance of your travel date to allow for processing time. You may be asked to provide additional supporting information.
If your tourist visa is approved, you will be notified in writing, and it will be digitally linked to your passport.

Can I Extend An Australian Visitor visa?
If you already have a valid Electronic Travel Authority visa (subclass 601) and are in Australia, you can extend your stay by applying for another visa, such as a Visitor visa (subclass 600). It is not possible to extend an eVisitor (subclass 651).

Working Holiday Maker is a program in Australia that allows visitors under the age of 30 (or 35 in some cases) with a passport from a participating country to travel and work in Australia.
