The teenager with us on this trip loved the Louvre Museum. She said it felt like she was in history class, but actually seeing it all in person. The Mona Lisa was her favorite work of art. She couldn’t wait to get back and tell her entire class about her adventure.
Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie is one of the children’s favorite museums. It is designed for young children and includes a variety of interactive activities to keep them entertained.
If your children enjoy art, history, and science, they will enjoy visiting museums in France as much as ours did.

Costa Rica is one of Central America’s most popular tourist destinations. I chose to visit Costa Rica with my son when he was three years old because of its national parks, beaches, and adventurous activities.
We planned our itinerary ahead of time, and he was particularly enthusiastic about horseback riding, hiking, and ziplining. Ziplining, indeed. At 3! For safety, young children are paired with a ziplining guide. My three-year-old son begged to perform a few lines on his own. I owe his bravery to travel, which has exposed him to so many things.
In Costa Rica, we also rode horses, which was a wonderful experience, went to the beach, and fed monkeys.

Even in a state known for its vast, empty landscapes, the Basin and Range National Monument, about a two-hour drive north of Las Vegas, takes the term “remote” to a whole new level. The 704,000-acre preserve, established in 2015, offers endless hiking, climbing, camping, and cycling opportunities; its desert valleys and mountain ranges are also dotted with Indigenous rock art sites.
But the reason to go now is “City,” the world’s largest contemporary artwork, which will open to the public in September 2022. The monumental open-air sculpture, a collection of mounds, depressions, and stelae conceived by artist Michael Heizer, was made from dirt, rock, and concrete and took more than 50 years to complete.
The project, which was made possible by joint contributions from art institutions across the country, including LACMA and MoMA, will be open to the public by reservation only during the 2023 season. The mile-and-a-half-long sculpture feels both ancient and futuristic, a destination as breathtaking as the natural beauty that surrounds it.

It is never too early to begin thinking about sustainability. Visiting a city like Santa Monica where you don’t need a car is environmentally conscious—and with car rental prices sky-high these days, it’s financially sensible for a family trip, too.
Santa Monica defies the image of Los Angeles as a car-crazed metropolis, thanks to a robust cycling community, pedestrian-only shopping streets, and the Expo Line Light Rail connecting the community with greater Los Angeles.
You can splash in the Pacific waves, pedal the beachside bike path, and enjoy amusement rides (including a solar-powered Ferris wheel) at the Santa Monica Pier without driving.

With its many famous theme parks and equally spectacular water parks, it’s no surprise that Orlando consistently ranks at the top of the list of places to visit with kids for a special vacation. And, with the Walt Disney Company turning 100 in 2023, the new year is an excellent time to plan a visit.
Even if Disney’s Star Wars Land, Universal’s Harry Potter theme park areas, or a Jurassic World-themed roller coaster aren’t your thing, Orlando is so much more. Outdoor activities such as zip lining and kayaking, as well as golf vacations, are among the other fantastic things to do in Orlando.
Kid-friendly attractions such as Madame Tussauds, SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium, and Andretti Indoor Karting and Games pretty much guarantee fun for everyone in the family.
When it’s time to unwind at the end of the day, stay at one of the many Disney World hotels in Orlando or venture further afield to neighboring Kissimmee, where Reunion Resort’s water park will keep kids entertained and refreshed during their vacation downtime.

For decades, this northern Moroccan city has attracted streams of bohemian expats including, most famously, beat-generation writers Paul Bowles and William S. Burroughs. That’s how it got a reputation for being a place where foreigners went to live rather than just visit.

Tangier’s reputation, however, may change this spring, thanks in part to the opening of Villa Mabrouka, British designer Jasper Conran’s second Moroccan property, following the opening of L’Hôtel Marrakech in 2018.
The hillside property, which was once the private residence of fashion icon Yves Saint Laurent and his partner, has gorgeous views over the Bay of Tangier and is within walking distance of the city’s frenetic medina. Villa Mabrouka joins other newcomers such as the Museum of Contemporary Art, a space displaying work by regional artists that is also known as the Kasbah Museum due to its location in the renovated 17th-century Kasbah prison.
Also new on the proverbial block is the just-opened Fairmont Tazi Palace Tangier, set on a refurbished, century-old estate near the old city. The recently announced Waldorf Astoria, a 115-room and 21-villa resort set to open in 2025, is already generating excitement.
23. Boston, Massachusetts – Best Places To Visit With Kids
Boston, which is compact and walkable, serves as an entertaining backdrop for an American history lesson that is far more immersive than any textbook. Bring the kids and walk the 2.5-mile Freedom Trail, which includes 16 historically significant sites, including the Paul Revere House, before visiting the Boston Tea Party Ships and Museums for an interactive look at a pivotal event in our country’s history.
The Massachusetts capital also has plenty of urban green space, including the always-popular Boston Public Garden. Take a Swan Boat ride and see the Make Way for Ducklings statue, both of which are must-sees for fans of this children’s literary classic.

Canada is best known for its hockey teams, natural landscapes and cold weather activities. Each province in Canada has its own unique sightseeing experience to offer, making a vacation to one of the Canadian provinces perfect for a family holiday.
Our favorite place to visit in Canada is Toronto, and we also go to Niagara Falls every time we visit. During the day, my son enjoyed riding the Maid of the Mist beneath the massive waterfalls. We booked a hotel with a view of the falls so he could see how the falls changed colors after dark.
We also chose to visit two of Canada’s most popular ski resorts, Lake Louise Ski Resort and Sunshine Village at Banff National Park. The scenery in Banff National Park is absolutely stunning. Mont-Tremblant is another summer gem.

Although it has a reputation as an adult playground, New Orleans has some surprisingly kid-friendly outdoor attractions that make it an ideal destination for families in 2022.
Children can skip along shady footpaths lined with live oaks while taking in whimsical three-dimensional shapes at Besthoff Sculpture Garden. Leafy City Park is a magnolia-scented dream, complete with boating, mini-golf, tennis, and a carousel.
Snack on a sugar-dusted beignet at Café du Monde, groove to live music at the Jazz and Heritage Festival, and take in the varied bayou terrain on a guided kayak tour. Drury Plaza is a good choice for family accommodations in New Orleans because of its comfortable rooms, free breakfast, and all-day snacks like popcorn.

Our annual trips to Mexico convince us that it is an excellent destination for families. My kids love Mexico so much that they’ve even attended school there for a week.
Mexico has a plethora of all-inclusive resorts that we enjoy with both younger and older children. I always reserve a resort with a kids’ club so that I can have some alone time and rest while the kids have a good time.

Spain’s mild climate all year round makes it an ideal beach destination. A winter visit here isn’t as cold as it is in the rest of Europe.
There are numerous science museums for children to explore, as well as beautiful sand beaches.
Spain is also one of my kids’ favorite European countries to visit because they love the weather and the food, and everyone is so nice to them.
More so, Spain is well known for its European football teams, like Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. Soccer fans will want to see a live game. We didn’t have enough time to secure tickets for a game, but we did tour Camp Nou Stadium in Barcelona. The tour was just as entertaining because we walked down the hallway where the players enter.
Gaudi’s art is everywhere, and Gaudi Park in Barcelona is one of the best places to see it all. We spent a whole day there exploring and enjoying the landscape and artwork at the park.
Spain is a chocolate lover’s paradise. You’ll want to eat chocolate at every chocolate museum in Spain. We did.
