You may not need to apply for a co-op work permit from November 15, 2022, to December 31, 2023. If you meet all of the following conditions, you do not need a co-op work permit to complete your co-op placement: Internships, Work, And Study in Canada!

  • Your study permit certifies that you are permitted to work off-campus.

If your co-op placement ends after December 31, 2023, or if you are ineligible for the temporary policy change, you must apply for a co-op work permit for the period following that date. Who Is Not Eligible?

You are not eligible for a co-op work permit if you are enrolled in one of the following courses:

  3. courses to prepare for another study program.
